What you need to know after having Microblading.

The aftercare for microblading is crucial and the effectiveness of the procedure is dependent on it to a large extent, so you must take it seriously and follow the instructions and recommendations given by your brow artist to achieve the best possible microblading results.

Part of microblading aftercare is cleaning your brows, protecting them from infection, and taking extra care of the skin in the area as advised by your microblading artist.

The following are the basic microblading aftercare guidelines:

  • Wash your face carefully, paying great attention to the treated area. With a clean tissue, pat it down. Avoid rubbing your brows.
  • Only utilize the products that your esthetician has recommended. You shouldn’t use skincare products on your own because they may contain exfoliants and acids that can damage the pigment.
  • Allow the scabs to naturally fall off. Picking them can take the pigment off, which is difficult to fix.
  • Avoid sleeping on your face and use a clean pillowcase, preferably silk.
  • Do not wear any make-up for the full face for at least 10 days because makeup and removal products can come into contact with the sensitive area when removed.
  • Avoid sweating, saunas, beach and pool swimming, and extended time for showers.
  • Sun exposure and tanning should be avoided.

As you may notice, the basic guidelines for aftercare are quite tight.

You are not permitted to use cosmetics or wear makeup during the healing process.

Therefore, schedule your microblading session ahead of time.

Keep in mind that your brows will need to heal and that you’ll need to have a touch-up after 6–8 weeks. It’s preferable to get the treatment at least 10 weeks before a major event or vacation.
