Why it is important to wash lash extensions regularly?

Aside from a lash lift, one of the most popular and widely used techniques for enhancing your natural lashes right now is with eyelash extensions. They provide excellent results, making your eyes pop and increasing your self-confidence.

Why is it so important to wash your lash extensions regularly?

The most important maintenance for eyelash extensions is to clean them frequently.

Eyelash extensions are fibers that are applied to your natural lashes with lash glue. The retention lasts up to 4 weeks and falls off with your natural lashes in accordance with their growth cycle. To maintain the stunning look and extend the life of your lash extensions, you must schedule touch-up sessions every two to three weeks.

Dead skin, debris, and oil accumulate during your everyday activities and weaken the bond between the lash adhesive and your natural lashes. Therefore, failing to consistently clean your eyelash extensions may result in an early fall off of the extensions. Washing eyelash extensions is also necessary to reduce the possibility of infection and the development of blepharitis, which results in redness, swollen, and itchy eyelids. Your lashes will be clean, healthy, and longer-lasting if the oil and dirt buildup are removed.

When and how often do we need to wash lash extensions?

It is very important to keep them completely dry for at least 24 hours after applying lash extensions. The lash glue or adhesive needs ample time to fully adhere to your natural lashes for better and longer-lasting retention. After that, you can wash them.

There are three types of lashes: classic, volume, and hybrid. Classic lashes attach one individual lash extension to each natural lash. Volume lashes attach 2–6 (or even more for mega volume) fans to each natural lash. A hybrid is a combination of the two.

We at Lucia Lash and Brow Philadelphia, New York, Brooklyn, Stamford, Honolulu and Tokyo, Japan recommend cleaning it two to three times a week for classic lash extensions, but because they are significantly denser, volume and hybrids should be cleaned daily.

If you wear makeup every day or have oily skin, it is recommended that you wash your eyelash extensions every day.
